Sticking With it
Good morning followers!
I've had the pain and PLEASURE of creating a!!!21-Day Journaling Challenge.
I've used quite a few of the techniques learned in this Therapeutic Art Class with a twist of my own and learned quite a bit about myself. I've also had so much fun CREATING!!!
Here are a few I thought I would share with you:
1.Draw a Gratitude Clover: In each of the 4 Petals write something you are grateful for. You can also draw a picture inside the petals or write an affirmation of the name of a poem or song title that has special meaning to you.
2. Think of a flower you'd like to see, smell and touch. Then draw it. Because a rose cane to my mind, I pulled up this easy tutorial on YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7s--FzD5a6A
I was surprised how easy I could follow along and it actually looked like a rose!
The smell in my mind was exquisite, the sight was colorful and I remember them dotting my neighbor's side yards and the touch of the petals was soft. I remember having to be careful to not brush my legs against their prickly thorns.
3. Guided Meditation Art. Close your eyes for three deep inhales and exhales. Allow yourself to notice any images you see, any colors, any numbers, any word or phrases. Take 3 deep inhales and exhales and open your eyes. Write down what you noticed during your meditation. Create your expression of what you noticed. Look at possible meanings behind what you noticed in your meditation and created and see what resonated with you.
4. Create a snowflake from a piece of copy paper.
Journal about how you are as UNIQUE as your SNOWFLAKE creation.
5. The Unsent Postcard

This gives you the opportunity to write a message to a person or situation that caused a conflict allowing you to express what you would say to that person or situation. On the blank areas of the postcard, you will draw a visual representation of how the experience made you feel.
This particular exercise brought out a familiar pattern of me feeling smothered and getting smaller when I experience conflict. It's good to draw it out because I can see where I need to assert myself more.
I'm glad one of my assets is persistence. I'm happy I could share these with you. If you have other ones you'd like to share, please do!
Express, Empower and Evolve,
Laura
