Forgiveness Inventory
Good morning followers,
On my quest for transformation and thirst for knowledge, I honestly believe that I've been directed to do Forgiveness Life Coaching. This is being taught by Dr. Sheri Rosenthal. Here's a little background on her!

I'd like to cover the tool of doing a Forgiveness Inventory.
In order to begin this process, one has to first identify the GOALS of Forgiveness:
PERSONAL FREEDOM is the ULTIMATE GOAL FOR FORGIVENESS.
- Freedom from the prison you find yourself held captive by.
- Freedom from the weight of the baggage you are carrying around.
- Freedom from the poison of the resentment you are ingesting.
- Freedom from the limitations you place on your life by orchestrating your life around making someone pay or avoiding them.
- Freedom from the emotional energy that you constantly spend on PAIN, SUFFERING, HATE, JEALOUSY, GUILT, BLAME, SHAME, or SELF-LOATHING.
THE First STEP is to MAKE a DECISION that IT's WORTH IT, YOU"RE READY, and IT'S TIME for Forgiveness.
So, Let's Look at Why People Resist Forgiveness:
- Forgiveness isn't reconciliation with the person who hurt you
- Forgiveness isn't living in denial about a person's actions.
- Forgiveness isn't allowing the person to repeat the same behavior over and over again.
- Forgiveness isn't having no consequences for a behavior.
- Forgiveness isn't letting someone off the hook. It's allowing you to move on with your life. Forgiveness is for you not them!!!This is like the principles of YOGA and LOA; you are doing this for YOUR HIGHEST GOOD!
Moving onto to the actual Forgiveness Inventory:
Part 1: Forgiving Yourself:
For each question, identify what the action or situation was, how you punish yourself or (others for it), and how it negatively impacts your life:
Self-Forgiveness:
What past actions (toward yourself or others) do you regret? List them
For each: How do you punish yourself or others for it?
How does it negatively impact your life?
What mistakes have you made that you beat yourself up for and /or replay over and over in your mind? List them
For each: How do you punish yourself or others for it?
How does it negatively impact your life?
What else do you feel guilty for? List them
For each: How do you punish yourself or others for it?
How does it negatively impact your life?
Carrying the guilt and shame around because you have had these EXPERIENCES will NOT CHANGE or FIX what HAPPENED. All you're doing by HOLDING on to this PAIN is to CREATE more PAIN in your LIFE. It's OKAY to Let IT GO!!!!
Forgiving Others Inventory:
Who Harmed or Hurt You in Some Way?
What do you need to do in order to forgive him or her?
How do you take your non-forgiveness out on them, yourself and others?
What is the negative impact harboring this resentment has had on your life?
Now you're ready to EMBRACE a NEW WAY of BEING!!!
Answer these questions quickly with the first thing that comes to mind:
- How is the lack of compassion showing up in your life?
- How is judgement showing up in your life?
- How is sabotage showing up in your life?
- How is perfectionism showing up in your life?
- How is unworthiness showing up in your life?
- How has failure showed up in your life?
- How has victimhood showed up in your life?
- How is resentment showing up in your life?
- How is criticism of self or others showing up in your life?
- How does non-forgiveness impact your physical body?
- How does non-forgiveness affect your relationships?
Give yourself a HUGE PAT ON THE BACK AND A HUG TOO!!! YOU'VE HONESTLY AND WILLINGLY LOOKED AT HOW NON-FORGIVENESS IS AFFECTING YOU AND YOUR LIFE.
