Soothing Tools

Good morning all,

I'm taking a Law of Attraction Prosperity And Abundance Simplified Life Coaching Course from Terez Firewoman Hartmann.

Today, more than ever, I think we could all use a little bit of soothing!

Terez breaks this down into a two part lecture but I'm including it here for you in this one blog.

Tool #1. Soothing Thoughts:

  • Things "Do" always work out for you.
  • Everything is inherently designed to help you out and move you "forward".
  • Life always "happens for your benefit" ( even when you're not experiencing rainbows and sunshine).
  • EVERY time something odd, unexpected, or yes, challenging happens, there is always something GOOD in it for YOU!
  • "It looks like the Universe just moved another chess piece."
  • "What if this change just moved me CLOSER to what I REALLY want or to something EVEN BETTER?"
The next time you or a client of yours experiences a dip or a blip due to some kind of unexpected change, give these thoughts a spin.... And you just might discover you are well on your way to SHIFT-ing forward!

Tool #2 Soothing Questions:
***When an  even/financial change occurs, remember the "Emotional Drama Queen" aspect of our minds always has something to say!!! Redirect him/her with REALITY ORIENTED QUESTIONS.
For example:
  1. Am I safe and ok at this very moment in time?
  1. Do I have a safe place to sleep?
  1. Do I have access to food and clean water and will this likely to continue for me?
  1. Have I ever made it though challenges/changes before?
  1. Is it possible things will/can change again?
  1. Is there more than one way for abundance to flow?
  1. Has my financial flow ever paused and then restarted again?
  1. Have I ever been able to find a way forward though a challenge?
  1. Has there ever been a time when things did WORK out?
**** Use these questions as a jumping off point for you, and add to this list as inspired.****
What are some additional REALITY ORIENTED QUESTIONS that can help to Soothe?

Tool # 3 Soothe the Body:
  • Stop and take three slow deep breaths before you take the next STEP.
  • Put your hands on your heart and combine with slow deep breathing.

Tool #4 Soothing Action:
Honor your basic needs:
  1. Completely clear or lighten your schedule for the day.
  1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate and then Hydrate some more (WATER).
  1. Make sure that you're eating food that feels both good and soothing to your body( comfort foods that are well-tolerated).
  1. Spend time in nature.
  1. Move your body in some way.
  1. Take any medicines or supplements that can assist you, that feel friendly/ comforting, and are SAFE for you mind and body.
SIDE NOTE: When MEGA STRESSED, DOING may actually be best.
Sometimes, when things go awry, there can be so much momentum in progress, that slowing down just doesn't feel like an option; much like a person running full speed , it's far better to continue movement and gradually slow movement than to suddenly STOP.
And a lot of times, doing something can give you more of a feeling of being in "control" and also moving "forward"( rather than the feeling of being out of control").
HOLD OFF ON IMPORTANT DECISIONS OR COMMUNICATIONS.
Unless it's a "matter of life or death", it's NEVER a good idea to make important decisions or communicate with those who aren't part of your "inner circle or wellness team".
Channel your "energy" into CONSTRUCTIVE ACTION by:
ASKING AND LOOKING AT:

1. What CAN I do right now?
2. Who is a calm, level-headed person I can trust who could help me in some way and offer:
    A. Ideas and support?
    B. Sound advice?
    C. Job/gig leads?
    D. Client referrals?
3. Who do I know who may be willing to trade products/services?
4. What could I sell that I'm currently not using?
5. Are there changes that I could make on my monthly or weekly expenses that could relieve some of the pressure I'm experiencing?
6. Do I qualify for discounts or reduced rates?
7. Are there memberships/subscriptions that I'm not using that I could pause or cancel?

*** Jotting these things down and also following through with these actions that feel reasonable and also doable can be extremely helpful. They can soothe your mind by giving it a job and a "purpose".

Tool #5 Soothing Subject-Change

Staying on a subject while feeling waaaaaaaaay out of alignment typically has the tendency to prolong and amplify the "funk" of the moment.

When you know you have done what you CAN, it's time to SHIFT gears and CHANGE the SCENERY!

Here are some recommended subject changers or actions you can take that will help you move forward:

  • Go for a run or walk.
  • Change your environment:
get out and head out for some gorgeous green space
sit, run or walk by a body of water
visit an art gallery, garden, or cafe

Then head home, or anywhere that feels warm, welcoming, or a safe space to YOU.

  • Clean or do yardwork/ get your hands into something that forces you to be focused and attentive.
  • Watch a movie/ show/documentary that feels light/ funny/ and also unrelated to the subject of the moment(shows about travel, cooking, culture, home renovations, etc.).
  • Take a nap or meditate
  • Do Yoga, Tai Chi, or Qigong.

Tool #6 Soothe Your Senses

Introduce some sensory elements such as:

  1.  Wrap yourself in a cozy blanket
  2. Sit in front of a cool fan
  3. Pet your favorite creature/get hugs/or cuddle your sweetheart
  4. Burn incense/a favorite scented candle/a scented body lotion
  5. Focus on things that feel beautiful to you/images of your pet/your favorite people
  6. Soothing music
  7. Soothing lighting

Tool #7 Soothing Sleep and Rest

Some words that can and may help soothe the mind when preparing for sleep:

  • "I've done the best I could today and will start fresh from a place of clarity tomorrow."
  • "Things always work out for me, and as I rest my vibe will naturally rise."
  • "I intend to wake up tomorrow with a clear mind and a open heart."
  • " No matter what it looks like, I AM moving forward to allowing even MORE of the GOOD I have created."
  • "As I rest and allow my vibe to rise, I put myself in an even better POSITION to RECEIVE clear GUIDANCE and know what to do next."

I'm taking all of these in and am feeling more prepared to face anything that comes into my pathway!

Again, I'm on this pathway with YOU!

Laura
